River Days (a week later)

with love from detroit

Where can you hold a giant play date in Detroit? The Riverfront, that’s where. We totaled 5 mommies and 7 little people for todays meet up. All of us Villagers and looking for a place to let our kids run off some steam.

We were first to arrive at the playground but were soon joined by two other play groups we knew who happened to make the same plans. This made for 5 more mommies and who knows how many kiddos. Woo hoo!

After the playground it was time for a snack and quick bike ride. The bike ride could have been longer but the idea of food brought all our kids to a halt. We pulled tables together in the shade and spread food out like we were feeding ducks at a pond. It was as if those children had not eaten for days. We cleaned the tables, but a BIG thank you goes out to the attendant who had to sweep the area after we left. You are much appreciated.

The one downer was that the Ren Cen fountains were still out of commission. We settled for the Fountains by the carousel but they come with a lot of rules (no splashing, no running, no climbing, etc.) Rules be darned, our children got soaked. If it weren’t for the quick forming thunderstorm and the promise of a vanilla ice cream cone, I would have never gotten Jack to leave.

With love from Detroit,

Callie
