Last week, Ryan asked Jack what his favorite thing in Detroit was. His answer? Baseball.
It’s always a gamble when you take a toddler to a baseball game. It is almost guaranteed that we will need to leave before the 7th inning stretch. Every game we set a goal. This time, we were hoping for 5 innings.
That’s not even 5 innings of straight game watching. That’s just 5 innings of being inside the gates of Comerica Park.
On our walk from the parking garage, Ryan kept shouting “Deee-troit Tiii-gers!” Jack wasn’t having it. He scolded Ryan “Shhhh Daddy. The baby is sleeping.”
We saw mounted police on our way to the game. Jack said “Awww. They’re so cute.” (Side note: how adorable is his tiny Verlander jersey?)

We made it. 6 whole innings. Well, kinda. We made it 4 and a half innings in our seats and then were off to the carousel.
This one turned out a bit blurry, but come on…..This is ADORABLE! He is in awe of the carousel and it shows.
It was a late night for the little man and even though we didn’t make it to the Friday night fireworks, we made it past our goal. We will make it to a full game one of these days.
With love from Detroit,
Callie
