Ryan, Jack and I had our first official joint family vacation with Ashley, Jonathan and Vivienne. Where did we go? Chicago, of course.
We met up with friends, walked down Michigan Ave., played in Millennium Park and visited Shedd Aquarium. You know, your basic touristy weekend in Chicago.
Ryan had never been to the Windy City. Seeing as he is a Michigander who loves New York, people often insisted he would absolutely love Chicago. Now, if you know Ryan, you know that anything he is told he will LOVE, he immediately dislikes. It’s not that he is disagreeable. It’s just that he hates the idea of being predictable. I find it endearing.
Well people, you were right. He did love Chi-town. And so did Jack.
Thank you to our friends for helping to plan our weekend getaway. Look forward to next years trip. Beach weekend anyone?
With love from Detroit,
Callie
P.S. I considered making the title of this post “Chi-town, town, town, town, town, town.” This is a reference in our household to the C-town stores in New York. Since this joke is only hilarious to two people, Ryan and me, I thought better of it.
