Congratulations to our friends Adam and Lisa who got married last Saturday. The wedding was amazing. Lisa was stunning and you could feel the couples love throughout the Tri-state area. That’s right, Adam and Lisa got married in New York, 4 days after hurricane Sandy.
I was so impressed by Lisa. She kept her cool, kept everything under control and kept sight of what is important. I told her that we could dance in her parents backyard with flashlights and it would be an amazing wedding.
Then, on our way to mani pedis (cause we know what matters), I saw her parents neighborhood. The place was a disaster area. Huge trees were completely ripped out of the earth. Electric wires were draped across every street. If you haven’t donated yet, please do.
Now let me tell you about Adam and Lisa. First Adam. The man is in love with airplanes. He is a member of the New York Aviation Club (who knew that was a thing) and will call before my flights to chat about my flight status.
Okay. Lisa’s turn.
That girl is a born and raised New Yorker. When I was pregnant with Jack, I got a popsicle from a street cart that was broken in half. My midwest self was going to let it slide. Not Lisa. She fought hard for all that is right in the world and got me the intact popsicle my 7-month-along-self needed.
Even though Ms. Li Li G can speak up for all the injustices of the world (like demolished frozen desserts) she is a sweet, sensitive, loyal and all around wonderful person. She adores all things Disney, family and, of course, Adam. That is why she ordered him the groom’s cake above. Now that is LOVE.
