This was the first time I have flown to LaGuardia and not gone to the city. Manhattan was not on the agenda. This weekend was pure Long Island beaches and super girly girl time. Just one quick train ride and I was in Montauk to celebrate my friend Lisa’s bachelorette party.
We had delicious oceanside meals, ate fresh seafood to our hearts content, danced in to the wee hours of the morning, played silly games and gave silly gifts. The weekend eventually turned into the ultimate slumber party with 10 girls, one bathroom and five queen size mattresses in one hotel room. Word.
One little bitty side note. We had our last meal at one of the swankiest places I have ever been. Everyone there was either oozing money or oozing sex appeal. I just knew that at any moment they would see that I was an impostor and ask me to leave. Instead of playing it cool, a few of us decided to do the opposite. While people were sitting at the bar, oozing away, my dear friends and I posed in the port holes directly across from them.
Thank goodness for keeping it real.
With love from Detroit,
Callie
