A Super Three Year Old!

After just recently mastering the art of holding up two fingers, Jack is now a whopping three years old. There are so many great things that come with three. He has an opinion, his own interests, a growing imagination, boundless energy and goofy sense of humor.

When I asked Jack what kind of birthday party he wanted, he said superhero. I began planning (aka pinning) before Hudson was born. Not realizing how busy life with two children would be, I thought I would be able to throw the same type of big bash he has had for the last two years. Silly me.

Weeks before the party date with nothing purchased and no invites sent, I called my BFF/party planning expert Ashley for some help. She suggested only inviting grandparents and asking them all to dress like superheroes. Genius.

The party was a complete success and did not take much work to put together. I kept life simple by ordering pizza for dinner and making cupcakes for dessert. I bought plates and napkins to fit the theme and ordered capes and masks on Amazon.

Jack got a kick out of everyone’s costumes and has been talking about Grandpa John as Buzz Lightyear and Grandpa Tim as Wolverine ever since. Ryan and I went as Super Mom and Super Dad. Hudson went as batman.

When the party was winding down and we were all at the dining room table, Jack sighed “Oh man…My birthday party is all done.” Sure you never want your child to be sad but Jack’s disappointment was the best possible sign that he enjoyed his third birthday. This was the perfect way to celebrate a “super” little man.
