The Michigan Science Center has reopened. This is huge for the future of a family friendly Detroit and I would have been a fool to not support the cause. Ryan, Jack and I proudly purchased a shiny new membership and happily explored the giant, kid friendly museum.

Jack’s obvious favorite was Kid’s Town. He played in the water exploration area, the field house and the Vet clinic. We only wish we had more time. Ryan had to work a half day and the weather was more than a little unforgiving, so we did not get there until later than we hoped. No worries. We are members and will be back again, and again, and again.

In fact, Ryan and I cannot wait to go back just the two of us, to check out the ‘Bodies Human’ Traveling Exhibit or one of the IMAX films.

This is real people. It is open and it with our support it will stay that way. This is exactly what a kid/family friendly Detroit needs. Now if we could only convince more city establishments to add changing tables to their restrooms (and not just the ladies room. this is nearly 2013. Time to share the wealth of changing tables between genders, thank you.)

Okay, okay. Back to the topic at hand. Hurray for science and in the words of Mr. Bill Nye “Science rules!”

With love from Detroit,

Callie
