Today calls for a crock pot.

This morning was cold, wet and windy. Nevertheless, I ventured to Eastern Market to peruse the Tuesday selection. It was there, amongst the potatoes and leaks, I was inspired to break out my crock pot.

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you a purely Eastern Market Tuesday meal. I chopped carrots, fingerling potatoes, onions, and leaks. Added a bit of rosemary. Cheated by using store bought broth but redeemed myself by making meatballs out of bacon sausage purchased from J & M Farms (a stand I so lovingly refer to as “The Pork Guy.”) Threw it all in the pot and viola. Dinner.

Of course by viola, what I really mean is let’s wait four hours and I bet it will be scrumptious. As of now, I can not tell you if my market inspiration was a success but I will be sure to share the results as soon as they’re in.

With love from Detroit,

Callie

PS. Check your volume before visiting the J & M Farms website. I can tell you from experience the random and unexpected pig oinks will scare the bejeezus out of you if the sound is too high.

Update: The meal was awesome.
