Sorry for the lack of posts. I was busy having an outstanding weekend with family and friends.
Hana and I spent Saturday afternoon at Eastern Market. Jack was home napping while Ryan was getting some work done. It was nice to be able to take my time perusing the stalls. When Jack comes, we usually having to get in an out.
For lunch we went to Russell Street Deli. Already hopped up on free samples, we decided on soup and soda pop. Gabe, our server, described the clam chowder as “very herbaceous.” With such an eloquent description, I could not pass it up. He was right. So very herbaceous.
Saturday was also the early opening of the Tashmoo Biergarten.
After Tashmoo we explored ice and water and later turned it into Smurf soup (water, corn starch, grass, flour and food coloring.)
Lazy Sunday morning before heading to a family picnic (more on that later) at my parents. Both Lola and Jack are snugging up to Auntie Hana.
Jack adores his cousin Eve. They are so sweet together (more on that later.)
Took Hana to the Guardian Building for some Detroit gear. Jack was amazed by the ceiling. He kept pointing up and saying “WOW!”
Our last stop before Hana had to leave was the Riverwalk. This time I came prepared.
I was thrilled to have Hana for three whole days. It is always so hard to say goodbye. I love having her in Detroit. Next time, though, I will have to visit her in NYC. Maybe even bring Jack for his first trip. Stay tuned…
With love from Detroit,
Callie
