Our second family trip to the cabins could not have been planned any better. While temperatures neared 100 degrees in Detroit, I happily bathed in the cool lakes of northern Michigan.
Ryan had to head back to the city for work. Coming in to our old home with no a/c was hard enough on him. We both knew there was no way I could handle it. For every day the heat index passed 95 I would have made us all miserable, demanding a suite and spa day at the MGM Hotel (big fan of their spa).
Looking back, maybe I made the wrong choice. I could have played out my lifelong fantasy of living like Eloise. Although The Plaza and a casino hotel aren’t exactly apples to apples.
I didn’t take many photos while Up North. I didn’t do any writing either. That is why this post comes so late. That and the fact that I am so close to delivering my second child, have put a bit too much on my plate and am having a terrible time finding the motivation to write. Please excuse my absence and know that while I might not always update right now, I am not gone for good. Just slowing down before the wee one arrives.
With love from Detroit,
Callie
PS Since my last post, Jack has mastered the art of Ka-ra-te. Thank you Aunt Virginia.
