I have no idea how to properly decorate a house. I have given in to the idea that if we like something, it will go somewhere and with some other thing we already own. It may not all make sense, but it is all a happy little collection of Ryan and me.
Walking into the Detroit Mercantile Co. for the first time, it looks as if they have decided to sell all the things that make them happy. There were t-shirts, old Detroit bank safes, pillows, sunglasses, store signs, tables, books. A happy little collection that all somehow fits delightfully together into this fantastic store.
If you have not already been, I strongly recommend the trip. The staff was helpful and I guarantee the atmosphere will make you leave happier than when you walked in. I absolutely love shops like this one. Let’s get more of them in the city.
