Petting Zoo

The great thing about blogging is that there are no real deadlines. So, I am a wee bit behind on a couple of my posts. Oops.

A few weeks ago, Lita (Spanish for Granny) suggested we take Jack to the Petting Zoo at Kensington Metropark. Brilliant. He has been going nuts over farm animals. He has farm books, puzzles and one of those animal sound toys that you pull the lever on. You know the one that says “the cow says moo” and then the arrow spins around to the next animal.

Jack was in toddler heaven for so many reasons:

  1. No stroller. We let him run wild and the freedom went straight to his head. He kept looking back at us like he was getting away with something magnificent and mischievous.
  2. OMG. OMG. OMG. He could touch the animals. And, unlike Lola, they didn’t get up and run away.
  3. He was the animal whisperer, fluent in all their languages. He “baa’ed”, “moo’ed”, “hee-haaaw’ed” with absolute precision.

Thank you Lita for the fantastic day at the Petting Zoo.

With love from Detroit,

Callie
