“I am not as important as I used to be”
This was yesterday’s revelation during a lunch conversation. It is not a bad thing and it is not self pity.
The reason I write this post is because today is my birthday and I have no real plans. Pre-mommy me would have strongly requested all the bells and whistles; birthday cake, streamers, spankin’ new outfit, fancy dinner and a night out with friends. The celebrations would have started July 1 and lasted the entire month. (What a piece of work this Pre-mommy Callie was.)
The truth is, since I have had Jack, I have become a lot less self involved. So really, the demotion is a good thing.
As cheesy as it sounds, mommy Callie just wants a day with her boys. And maybe a gift or two 🙂 That would be perfection.
