I often wish I could be one of those people who crave working out. I have NEVER craved working out and I don’t believe I ever will. I run, here and there, for vanity reasons. The problem is, I’m not consistent. So I never really get the end result I’m looking for.
I had the most success working out the year before I got pregnant. I was working with a trainer (this is back when I had a paycheck). We met 2-3 times a week and he pushed me HARD. I hated him but loved the way my butt looked. Oh, and my arms. I used to place my hands on my hips so I could flex my arms in a way that seemed natural (is that even possible?) Don’t judge me. You would have done the same.
Well, the days of a trainer are gone. Now I have to push myself to workout and I’m just not pushy enough. Ugh, I’m off for a run. Wish me luck.

I used to feel the same way.. I hated running. Now I can’t get enough of it and I find that I am actually craving a run. I go every other day but really wish I could go every single day. I’m trying to find another activity I love as much that I can do on my “off days”. Keep it up!! If you do it for a month straight, every other day then you will begin to love it. I promise. A word of advice, if you listen to music while you run… try listening to classical music or something else that is calming. Recently a friend of mine described running as a “pastoral” experience. He’s running in the inaugural Ann Arbor marathon this Sunday. He’s run in several marathons now. Like you, he used to hate running.
Be careful, you’ll soon be an addict too.
