Meet the newest member of our family, Gus!
Because, you know, the best time to get a new pup is when you have a three year old and 6 months old to take care of. Gus is a soon to be 100 lbs, snow white, bundle of puppy love. He came by way of Virginia and his arrival was a bit of a surprise. Sure I had been filling out applications and trying to contact various breeders but hadn’t heard back from anyone until Tuesday. By Friday, he was ours.
Gus is a Dogo Argentino – a breed know for their devotion to family and a strong desire to protect them. Enough said.
Lola seems a bit indifferent. She has been patient, sweet and a bit cautious. I think the picture below sums it up.
I would like to believe their relationship will eventually be the kind people write children’s books about. I mean, I know they are both dogs, but something similar to those books about the hippo and tortoise. Fun fact: hippos are my favorite animal. Not sure what it is about them, I just can’t get enough.
Another fun fact: Potty training in a “Polar Vortex” is the worst!!! I am half tempted to put a diaper on him until Spring. Wish us luck.
With love from Detroit,
Callie

Welcome to the family Gus Gus!!! XOXO
I wish you luck! He is a cutie for sure! I think Lola will love just how big Gus will get and will find he is her big buddy! She will want to hug him and squeeze and love him and keep him forever!
I’m so glad to see you posting! Cute puppy 🙂
Gus,
Welcome to the family! What’s your favorite treat?
Love to ALL, Great Aunt Mary
